The prints landed. The box did not move.
PCE ran hot. Nvidia beat. Bitcoin closed $79,018. That is not a Daily through eighty, and it is not seventy-two.

The prints the last letter was waiting on have now landed. Bitcoin did not crash through them, and it did not Daily-close through eighty. As of 1:52 in the morning, Central Time, on 27 August, spot sat at $78,792. The $70,000 to $82,000 box from Issue 01 still holds.
July PCE, released 26 August at 8:30 a.m. Eastern, ran hot on the headline: 3.7 percent year over year and 0.2 percent month over month, against 3.6 and 0.1. Core PCE was 3.3 percent, in line. Bitcoin wicked the number — the twenty-four hour low was $77,648 — and came back. CoinGecko’s Daily close on 26 August was $79,018. That is a failed eighty, not acceptance.
Nvidia reported after the cash close the same day: $96.2 billion of revenue, adjusted earnings of $2.22 a share, and third-quarter guidance of $108 billion. The stock had closed at $209.66. Overnight it recovered. One tape had it near $219.50, up about 4.7 percent. That is an equity shock. It is not a Bitcoin dump to 72.4k.
What moved overnight
Against the 25 August packet, Bitcoin was almost unchanged, down three tenths of a percent. Ether was up a percent. Solana was up a little over four. The dogs did not lead. Cash Cat was the exception again: up about sixteen percent on a flat Bitcoin tape. That is thin-name catch-up, the same fakeout risk this letter has already named, not a cult.
Dominance was still 59 percent. Ether against Bitcoin was 0.0316. The October 2025 high at $126,080 is still more than thirty-seven percent away. Seven-day gain has cooled to about fourteen percent. Hash ribbons, Energy Value, SOPR, ETF flow for the session, and funding were not in the packet. Until those exist, cash is the overlay, not a blended long.
The desk plan
Bang’s 78.5k short remains closed. His observation zone — 71.7k to 72.4k, wider 72k to 75.5k — still has not been fully tagged. Confirmation is still a Daily close back above $80,000 while $70,000 holds, or a Daily close below $70,000 if that zone fails. Two Daily closes above $80,000 without tagging the seventies would be another missed dip. A wick to $81,400 last week is not that close.
Until confirmation prints, just observe. Do not revive 78.5k. Do not chase $79,000.
Council weights through 16 September stay twenty / fifty / thirty, bull / base / bear. The base case is still two-way trade inside the box, no dated crash. Invalidation is a Daily close below $70,000, or two Daily closes above $85,000.
Jackson Hole is live, 27 to 29 August. Warsh speaks on the 28th at 10 a.m. Eastern. That can gap through 72.4k without a tradable bounce, or skip the pullback if the speech is easy. FOMC is 16 September. Reassess after Warsh. This letter is educational scenario research. It is not personalized advice and it does not recommend leverage.
