The crash is a window, not a date
A full-bench read after Bitcoin’s five-day squeeze. Local panic clusters around events. It does not print on a slogan.

As of Saturday 22 August, Bitcoin had run from the low sixties to the high seventies in a week. The question in the room was not “is the market interesting.” It was “when does this crash.”
The honest answer is that nobody can date the crash. What the tape usually does is flush when leverage, a thin book, and a dated catalyst overlap. That is a window, not a prophecy.
What was live
Spot sat near $78,600 with a seven-day range of roughly $62,700 to $79,300 — about twenty-five percent in a week, and still some thirty-eight percent below the 6 October 2025 high at $126,080. Dominance was still Bitcoin-led. The meme book was already late-beta: dogs and frogs up twenty to thirty-eight percent in a day.
The calendar that matters
- 26 August — Nvidia, and the PCE print
- 27–29 August — Jackson Hole; Warsh on the 28th
- 16 September — FOMC
September seasonality is a small sample. It is not a law. Use the meeting, not the month.
The desk plan
Observation first. A Daily close back above $80,000 while $70,000 holds is confirmation of continuation. A Daily close below $70,000 is the risk-off line. Chasing $78,000 after a vertical week is not a plan.
Until confirmation prints, just observe. Cash is a valid state.
Council weights through 16 September were twenty / fifty / thirty, bull / base / bear. The base case: two-way trade between $70,000 and $82,000, memes giving back a large share of the blow-off, no dated crash.
